A tasty cheese and shrimp croquette - a Belgian speciality as much as Belgian (and not French) fries or chocolate. It will always have it's place on the menu in many restaurants. A time-consuming recipe if you want to do it right. Therefore I decided in 2000 to lend a helping hand to the local catering industry and, based on my chef training, I started looking for a tasty, authentic and creamy cheese croquette and a richly filled shrimp croquette, without compromising on quality and with perfect breading. And they were an instant hit! The recipe is now a well-kept secret.

 

Since 2000, Gastronello has grown into a leading family business. We have a strong and dedicated team working every day to further expand our brand. Several variants, flavors, shapes and sizes have been added. We also like to work with local produce and we have a strong connection with other Belgian manufacturers of authentic ingredients to create the most delicious croquettes. Our objective has remained the same: quality, using only fresh and often local ingredients without the addition of preservatives, flavour enhancers or colouring. Despite the high labor costs, our croquettes are still produced in an artisanal way, rolled and breaded by hand, in the same area where they were created. A truly artisanal product which is a rare thing these days...
